Perry joins Campbell in Masters lead

Golf Betting Lines

04/10/2009 - Augusta, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kenny Perry fired a five-under 67 on Friday to join overnight-leader Chad Campbell, who had a 70, atop the leaderboard after the second round of the Masters.

Perry and Campbell finished 36 holes at nine-under 135 and are one clear of 2007 U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera, who managed a four-under 68 on Friday at Augusta National.

Tiger Woods struggled to an even-par 72 and is part of a large group tied at minus-two for the championship.

"I didn't get a whole lot out of my round again," Woods said. "Obviously I need to play a little bit better than I have, make a few more putts and hopefully get it going."

Woods, the four-time winner, will need his seventh comeback after 36 holes in a major for a fifth title at Augusta and it will be his biggest if he succeeds Sunday afternoon.

Woods overcame a six-shot deficit to Chris DiMarco after two rounds of the 2005 Masters, then beat DiMarco in a playoff for his fourth and last green jacket.

Todd Hamilton, the 2004 British Open champion, carded a four-under 68 and is fourth at six-under 138. Tim Clark finished strong for a one-under 71 to get into the clubhouse at five-under 139.

Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington, Geoff Ogilvy and Vijay Singh are on track to make the cut.

Greg Norman won't be around for the weekend.

The 54-year-old dropped four shots in his final six holes for a five-over 77. Norman finished at three-over 147 and the cut line, which is top-44 and ties or anyone within 10 of the lead, will be one-over 145.

Norman, Adam Scott, Retief Goosen, Jose Maria Olazabal, Fred Couples, K.J. Choi, Justin Leonard, Boo Weekley and Zach Johnson will also have the weekend off.

MySportsbook.com Posts Heisman Trophy Odds

With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best Heisman Trophy odds at 5-2.

Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season.  Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.

This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy.  A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.
