Ravens acquire CB Wilson from Seahawks

08/31/2010 - Owings Mills, MD (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Baltimore Ravens acquired cornerback Josh Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a conditional 2011 draft pick.

The 5-foot-9, 192-pound Maryland product was a second-round pick of the Seahawks in the 2007 draft. Wilson recorded 130 tackles, six interceptions, and two sacks over 40 games (23 starts) with Seattle.

Wilson is also known for his return ability. In 2008, he led the NFL with eight kickoff returns for 40 or more yards, averaging 25.4 yards per attempt.

"Josh is someone who has started a lot of games for a young player, plus he has been a good special teams player both as a kick returner and in coverages," Ravens executive vice president and general manager Ozzie Newsome said. "He adds depth to our secondary and will help us. Pending his physical, we expect Josh to be taking snaps against the Jets on opening night."

Baltimore was in need of a defensive back with cornerback Domonique Foxworth out for the year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
